BOLL-WEEVIL BACON SNACKS 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (8 oz.) 1/2 cup mayonnaise 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1/4 cup slivered almonds, divided Dash Worcestershire sauce
For a cold spread, combine cheese, mayonnaise, bacon, onion, 3 tablespoons of almonds, and the Worcestershire sauce. Shape into a mound or place in a serving bowl. Cover and chill several hours or overnight. To serve, top with remaining almonds. Serve with assorted crackers.
For a toasted snack, preheat oven to 350˚. Combine the ingredients for the cold spread as above. Spread some of the mixture on English muffin halves or French bread slices. Sprinkle each with some of the remaining almonds. Bake for about 15 minutes or just until bubbly. Halve or quarter and serve immediately. Makes 3 cups spread.
